The first stop for any undergraduate student considering a career in education is the Office of Student Services. Our advisors provide Academic Advising to all College of Education pre-majors, majors, and minors; pre-education exploratory; post-baccalaureate; and students interested in secondary education. We also provide information on applying to our professional preparation programs, degree and certification requirements, and finding a teaching position.
Prospective Education Students
If you are interested in declaring an education major, your first step is to explore our majors and minors; this will allow you to determine the best advisor to meet your needs. Then, please schedule a meeting with a College of Education academic advisor, who is assigned based on your intended major or minor.
Current Education Students
Students who are in the College of Education as pre-education majors or as majors can schedule an appointment with their advisor. When you come for your appointment, please check-in at the Student Services desk in room 247 (on the ground floor in the southwest corner of the College of Education building). If you require a phone appointment, please indicate this option when setting your appointment via Calendly and call 520-621-7865 at the time of your scheduled appointment. Your advisor is also available for virtual appointments via Zoom. Appointments are generally available on a first-come, first-served basis; however, advising may be limited during priority registration advising weeks. Bring your plan of study, unofficial transcripts, list of questions, and any other pertinent documents to the appointment.
Student Services offers drop-in advising during Fall and Spring semesters Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 10:00 am and 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. You may see any advisor who is on duty that day (not necessarily your assigned advisor). Student Services is located in the Education building room 247 (on the ground floor, southwest corner of the Education building).
If you have additional questions or concerns, you are welcome to call the Office of Student Services at 520-621-7865 or by email.
