A gift made to the College of Education is processed through the UA Foundation. Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law according to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our tax identification number is 86-6050388. The UA Foundation promptly sends a tax receipt by mail for all gifts of $10 or more. Please save this receipt for your tax records.
The UA applies a one-time administrative charge to new gifts over $1,000. This charge, currently set at 6 percent, goes into the UA development fund, which provides critical support to the UA’s fundraising operations.
Yes. New gifts from donors who have cumulatively given $15 million or more are exempt, as are gifts to pass-through scholarships and some designated for certain equipment purchases. If you have other questions or would like to learn more about this policy, please visit the UA Gift Charge FAQ page.
You can make your gift in honor of another person or in memory of a loved one by designated this on the 'tribute' line of our remittance envelope or online. The College of Education Development Office will send an announcement of the gift to the person or family of the person whose name the gift is made in.
The IRS requires that we inform you of the value of any goods or services you may have received and the resulting value of your gift. For instance, if you purchase a $100 ticket to a dinner event, we would include a statement in your gift receipt stating the cost of the dinner (let's say $25) with the remaining amount of your ticket purchase eligible for charitable tax deduction ($100 - $25 = $75, in this case).
