Education Program Design

What do the following have in common: curriculum design, task design, spatial design, classroom layout, assessment design, curriculum alignment, instructional design, human-computer interface design, programmed instruction, adaptive technological systems, and pedagogical design? They are all an important part of education program design. Additionally, learning theories, research studies, and program results offer opportunities for educators, students, and the community to create educational experiences.

What are we doing about it?

The College of Education is conducting research on:

  • Applying practice-based research to inform effective design of educational learning experiences in both informal and formal settings
  • Experiences and practices for undergraduates and graduate students and their respective mentors, such as faculty, specialists, researchers, and postdocs
  • Teacher-education program design
