Imagination Friday with David Bowles and Charlene Bowles

Join us on Friday, October 2, 1:00 to 1:40 to meet David Bowles and Charlene Bowles, the author and illustrator of a new graphic novel, Rise of the Halfling King, the adventures of a magical boy from Mayan mythology. Sayam, a boy who hatches from an egg, challenges a cruel king for the throne, helped by his spider monkey friend Maax. This graphic novel shares an exciting tale from Mexico and is the first book in a new series, Tales of the Feathered Serpent. 

David and Charlene will share their new book, their processes in creating the illustrations and story, invite children to draw their own animal companions, and answer questions. 

Imagination Fridays is co-sponsored by the Tucson Festival of Books and Worlds of Words/University of Arizona and will occur every Friday at 1:00-1:40 pm from September to December 2020 with a different author or illustrator each week.  Add some excitement to Fridays with world-renowned children’s authors and illustrator to promote new books and encourage children as readers, writers, and illustrators.
